OUG stands for Overseas Union Garden, an established residential township off Old Klang Road in southern Kuala Lumpur. Long known as a mature, largely Chinese-majority neighbourhood, it has steadily added newer high-rise launches among its older terraces and flats.
OUG is primarily drive-led rather than rail-connected. The nearest LRT is Awan Besar on the Sri Petaling Line, roughly a 5-10 minute drive, with Muhibbah LRT also within reach. Its real strength is highways: the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and KESAS (Shah Alam Expressway) are on the doorstep, with the Federal Highway, MEX and Besraya close by, putting KL city centre around 15 minutes and Subang or PJ within easy reach off-peak.
Everyday life is well covered. Pearl Point Shopping Mall and Scott Garden sit within OUG, with Aeon Big and more retail along Old Klang Road. The area is famous for its hawker food and Chinese eateries, and there are established schools such as SJK(C) Kung Man nearby.
New-launch condos we currently track in OUG range from about RM666,000 to RM765,900. That band moves with the project, unit size and floor level, so use it as a guide rather than a fixed quote. Compare current launches directly or WhatsApp Henry for live pricing before committing.
OUG works for own-stay buyers who value being close to the city without city-centre prices, and for investors relying on steady rental demand from a mature, well-connected catchment. Gross yields are moderate rather than spectacular; the honest caveats are the traffic congestion on Old Klang Road at peak hours and the fact that this is a dense, older township, so the newer towers command a clear premium over surrounding stock.
